Volunteers are always the most important part of any successful petition drive. They are the most visible representatives of our cause that are on the streets and in neighborhoods every day in direct contact with prospective supporters of our petition. While each and every volunteer may have their own opinion regarding the matter that we are seeking to have put before City voters through our petition drive - they all understand the importance of maintaining a neutral position when acquiring signatures on petitions - and consider each and every voter's right to also have their own respective opinions on the issue.
It is very important that our volunteers are both courteous and appreciative of each and every prospective petitioner's views on the issue we are representing. All volunteers are aware of how petitions must be properly completed by registered voters so they can be accurately verified and counted by the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections. In the event the petitions are not properly completed by registered voters - they may ultimately be rejected towards the required total number of properly completed petitions we must obtain - in order to qualify this petition to be placed on the ballot of the next general or special election. Needless to say - our volunteers play a VERY important role in the process!
